Help Center / Monitor-Only / Computer Sync

Pair one managed companion computer to one exact Primary workspace.

Confirm the controlling license has a Monitor-Only seat, register the Primary workspace, generate a pairing code, apply policy, activate, sync and verify the boundary.

Monitor-Only does not receive a separate product key. The companion uses a Monitor-Only seat on the controlling license. Business includes 3 seats. Eligible Home and Pro licenses can add Computer Sync and purchase seats. The one-time pairing code binds that companion to one exact Primary workspace.

1. Register the Primary workspace

Primary program path: Activation → Register this computer

  1. Install the Primary edition and activate it with its product key.
  2. Name the computer and allow registration to create or reuse its stable workspace UUID.
  3. Open System → Computer Sync and confirm the license is eligible.
  4. Business is eligible by default. Home or Pro must have Computer Sync enabled.
Success looks like: the workspace is Active, has a stable UUID and shows available Monitor-Only seat capacity.

2. Generate a companion pairing code

Website path: Admin → Workspaces → selected workspace

  1. Select Pair a Monitor-Only companion with this workspace.
  2. Enter a recognizable station name.
  3. Select Generate pairing code.
  4. Use the existing controlling product key plus the new one-workspace pairing code on the companion computer.
  5. The pairing reserves one available Monitor-Only seat until used, revoked or expired.

3. Choose what the companion may display or do

Business program path: Computer Sync → Managed policies

  1. Choose a preset such as Viewer, Monitor, Technician or Manager, or use Custom permissions.
  2. Choose all synchronized domains or only approved domains.
  3. Control sensitive fields and actions.
  4. Business can assign a Business Default, Group policy and individual-computer override.
  5. Business can also push a managed theme/background and support/contact information.

Policy changes are synchronized to the managed computer. Where an enforced setting is used, the secondary cannot silently override it.

4. Prepare the verified sync source

Primary program path: System → Computer Sync → Set Up

  1. Choose Primary as the role.
  2. Select a shared location reachable by the managed computers.
  3. Create a verified DCP backup and wait for archive and SHA-256 validation.
  4. Set the publishing/sync schedule and confirm Last Sync and Next Sync.

5. Activate Monitor-Only

Monitor-Only path: Activation → Connect to Primary

  1. Enter the controlling Home, Pro or Business product key.
  2. Enter the pairing code generated for this exact workspace.
  3. Name the physical computer and activate.
  4. The server consumes the one-time code so it cannot be reused on a second computer.
  5. The active Monitor-Only computer now consumes one seat on that controlling license.
Success looks like: the activation names the expected Primary workspace and the application shows only policy-approved sections and actions.

6. Run and verify the first sync

Monitor-Only path: Computer Sync → Sync Now

  1. Select Sync Now and wait for verification and import.
  2. Confirm the domain total matches the policy-approved scope.
  3. Confirm Last Sync, Next Sync and the receive-only/managed status.
  4. Verify restricted actions stay hidden or blocked according to policy.
